Good News.
Multiple sources agree –
The Department of Environmental Protection,
Barnstable County Lab,
Sea Consultants,
and our own
Hyannis Water Board,
all agree that our water is safe to drink.
The Hyannis Water Board is going above and beyond.
There are no concerns about asbestos in our Hyannis’s Drinking Water The Board reports that testing for asbestos is being done every fall.
The state regulation requires testing for asbestos in water systems with asbestos-concrete pipe every nine-year years. The last 2 tests in 2004 & 1995 showed no detectable levels, according to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
High Quality Water
Good News, our drinking water continues to be safe to drink, Our Hyannis Water System surpasses every water quality standard to provide the residents of Hyannis with high quality water.
In order to maintain their high standards, the System monitors all its sources and distribution system very closely.Precinct 3 Councilor Munafo believes in the framework that Barnstable has built for the Hyannis water system. He has faith in the people chosen to operate it.With the implementation of long awaited capital improvements, in addition to our excellent water quality, Councilor Munafo believes the future for Hyannis water is bright. .
